OUR WHY

Turning dialogue into action

At the end of 2023, the Australian Government and philanthropic partners signed the Working Together Agreement outlining the Investment Dialogue’s shared 10-year vision, commitments, priorities and ways of working. Partners have agreed to collaborate on ambitious, measurable objectives that could not be achieved by government or philanthropy working on their own.

OUR WHAT

Driving Collaborative Change for Australia’s Children

The Dialogue is a new way of working. It supports a more aligned and targeted approach by coordinating investments from philanthropy and government, while working with communities and existing organisations on a range of projects and systems reforms that place children and young people at the centre.

On 15 November 2024, leaders from philanthropy, government, and community gathered on Kaurna Country in Adelaide for the second roundtable of the Investment Dialogue for Australia’s Children. Held at the Living Kaurna Cultural Centre, the event focused on listening to community voices and advancing practical opportunities to improve child and family health and wellbeing while reducing intergenerational disadvantage.

Participants reflected on IDAC’s progress, including the Working Together Agreement and Leadership Councils, and agreed on key initiatives: adopting a Strategic Framework, expanding partnerships, supporting up to 50 communities with enhanced place-based resources, advancing innovative early childhood approaches, and shaping a youth-focused portfolio. The shared goal is to foster long-term, tangible outcomes that help children, young people, and families thrive.
